Intro to GMing Workshop
Walk-ins are always welcome!
Want to run your first tabletop RPG, but feel nervous about where to begin?
Join Maastricht RPG Collective on 25 June for a practical workshop about preparing and running games.
We’ll break down the basics of GMing: how to prepare without overpreparing, how to create a playable situation, how to start a session, how to respond to player choices, and how to keep the game moving.
You’ll also hear from three different GMs, each showing their own approach to prep and play. This is the main idea of the workshop: there is no single “right” way to GM. You can be organised, improvised, rules-focused, story-focused, chaotic, careful, or somewhere in between.
The workshop will include a short intro talk, live prep examples, practical exercises, and a chance to try running a short scene in a friendly, low-pressure setting.
No previous GMing experience needed. You do not need to know a specific game system. Just bring curiosity and the willingness to try.
Price: €9 (€3 fully reimbursable on food and drinks)
